Participation of Accompanying Person in Sessions

A message from the LOC regarding participation of accompanying person in the scientific sessions (December 14, 2001):

As a rule the organizing committee does not allow any one into a meeting room that is not wearing a delegate badge. The monitoring of this is not fanatical as it is not normally a problem. On the odd occasion that an accompanying person has wanted to listen to his/her partner presenting then we have always made an exception and will happily do so at ICOTS. If an accompanying person wants to attend many or all sessions then they are expected to register as a full delegate. Once the congress has started, the hotel security monitors entry into the venue by checking the badges worn by the participants.
