A message from the LOC regarding participation of accompanying person in the scientific sessions
As a rule the organizing committee does not allow any one into a meeting room that is not wearing a delegate badge. The monitoring of this is not fanatical as it is not normally a problem. On the odd occasion that an accompanying person has wanted to listen to his/her partner presenting then we have always made an exception and will happily do so at ICOTS. If an accompanying person wants to attend many or all sessions then they are expected to register as a full delegate. Once the congress has started, the hotel security monitors entry into the venue by checking the badges worn by the participants.

Workshop Registration (Sunday 07/07/02, 09h30 – 16h30)

For updated details see: IASE Support to Participants from Developing Countries.

Participants from developing or transitional countries will be eligible to apply to the ISI Development Fund, which provides assistance to young statisticians from developing countries to attend conferences. (For more details on this Fund see:

Unfortunately, the IASE generally does not have any funds to provide financial assistance for people presenting at the ICOTS conferences. Our main source of income is from membership fees, which at the very low rate of 19 USD scarcely covers the costs of running the organization. The IASE does not have any sponsors. However, the IASE will do what it can to assist speakers from developing countries. The IASE will pay the registration fees of a limited number of participants from developing or transitional countries who are involved in the conference.

The ICOTS-6 Executive would really appreciate it if presenters could kindly understand these circumstances, and encourages participants to ask for support from local organizations, such as local statistical organizations.

All queries regarding ICOTS-6 registration should be addressed to Sue Bumpsteed Conferences in the following address. Please note that the ICOTS-6 conference offices will be closed for registration between 15 Dec 2001 and 7 Jan 2002.
