Presentation Abstract
This panel will discuss the issues associated with running Children's Censuses and the objectives of doing them. The following questions will be discussed:

- Should they be compulsory (run by the state)?
- Do they have a role in the promotion or collection of official statistics?
- Are they an effective teaching or motivation strategy in statistics education?
- What do we know about students' learning using Census at School? What still needs to be researched?
